About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP ABAP + HCM Consultant with over 12 years of hands-on expertise in SAP HCM modules, ABAP development, and HR payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting SAP HCM solutions with strong proficiency in Personnel Administration (PA), Payroll Accounting, and related customizations.


The role requires deep technical capability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.


Key Responsibilities


SAP HCM & Payroll

  • Configure and support SAP HCM modules including Personnel Administration (PA) and Payroll Accounting.

  • Develop and maintain Wage Types, Schemas, and Rules for payroll processing.

  • Troubleshoot payroll issues and ensure smooth payroll cycles.

ABAP Development

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using ABAP Workbench.

  • Build custom objects: Reports, Forms (SmartForms/Adobe Forms), Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, etc.

  • Work with ABAP OOP for advanced development scenarios.

  • Optimize code for performance and maintainability.

Technical Design & Integration

  • Design and develop data models using SAP Data Dictionary.

  • Work with SQL/NoSQL databases for integrations or advanced reporting.

  • Collaborate with teams for integration using SAP Fiori, Azure tools, and APIs.

Process & Quality

  • Follow best practices in software engineering, coding standards, and documentation.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure timely delivery of user stories.

  • Implement unit testing/TDD for high-quality code.

  • Contribute to DevOps workflows including CI/CD pipelines and GitLab-based release management.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in SAP HCM – Personnel Administration (PA) & Payroll Accounting

  • Expertise in SAP Customization: Wage Types, Payroll Schemas & Rules

  • Advanced skills in ABAP Workbench development

  • Strong background in OOPs, ABAP programming & software engineering principles

  • Experience with Data Dictionary, Reports, and Forms (SmartForms/Adobe Forms)

Should-Have Skills

  • Experience with MS Azure Databricks or Azure Data Factory

  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5

  • Working knowledge of SQL / NoSQL systems

  • Strong in code optimization and performance tuning


Could-Have Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience in Scaled Agile environments

  • Familiarity with GitLab for version control

  • Experience with TDD / Unit Testing frameworks

  • Understanding of DevOps concepts & CI/CD pipelines
