SPEN Project Engineer

We are looking for experienced Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of telecommunications infrastructure projects across Scotland's utility network.

As a technical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, implementing, commissioning, and maintaining critical telecoms and IP networking solutions. Working closely with Project Managers, Field Engineers, Network Operations teams, and customer stakeholders, you will help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex telecoms and networking environments supporting critical national infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Support Project Managers and Senior Project Managers in the planning and delivery of telecoms projects.

• Assist with project scoping, technical planning, implementation, and commissioning activities.

• Ensure projects are delivered to agreed timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements.

• Participate in customer meetings and provide technical expertise and guidance.

Network Engineering & Support

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Monitor and support telecoms and IP network infrastructure.

• Assist with fault diagnosis, escalation, and resolution of critical network issues.

• Ensure network performance and service availability are maintained.

Technical Documentation

• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.

• Produce network diagrams, implementation plans, and handover documentation.

• Ensure customer network records are accurately updated following project completion.

• Develop and maintain technical reports and project records.
