My Time at DigiGov Expo UK — A Week to Remember

Last week, I found myself standing inside London Excel, clutching a coffee and taking in the buzz around me. It was the DigiGov Expo, and I had no idea just how much this experience would leave a mark.

We actually arrived a day early to set up our booth — and I’m so glad we did. That extra time gave us a chance to settle in, walk around, and soak up the atmosphere before the rush began. Even then, the energy was already building. People were prepping, chatting, and getting excited. I remember turning to a colleague and saying, “This is going to be something special.”

And it truly was.

Our Booth: Where Stories Met Solutions

On the first day of the expo, things kicked off with a bang. From the moment the doors opened, our booth started drawing attention. To my surprise (and delight), it quickly became a little magnet. People kept stopping by — some curious, some excited, some just looking for a good conversation. And we had plenty of those.

One moment that stood out to me was just watching how naturally conversations flowed. People were genuinely curious, open to sharing, and eager to connect. It wasn’t just about business — it was about building relationships. That kind of energy reminded me why these events matter so much.

A Connection That Truly Moved Me

One of the most memorable moments was meeting an official from a well-known company — someone I’d only briefly connected with through an app before arriving in the UK. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as I approached their booth, she instantly recognized me with the warmest smile.

She welcomed me with genuine kindness, shared stories from her journey, and made me feel completely at ease. Despite being thousands of miles from home, I didn’t feel like a visitor — I felt truly connected.

It was one of those rare moments where a professional meeting becomes something deeply human.

A Little Inspiration Next Door

Right next to our booth was another company that had placed a huge Labubu — yes, the quirky little character — to draw people in. And it worked! But what impressed me even more was the guy manning that booth.

He was a one-man show, and he absolutely nailed it. For two full days, I watched him greet visitors with genuine warmth, spark conversations with ease, and handle everything — from demos to deep discussions — all by himself. His enthusiasm was infectious. His sales skills? Impeccable. But more than that, he had this adorable, magnetic personality that made everyone feel welcome.

I was genuinely inspired by him. Watching someone bring that kind of energy and heart to their work reminded me how much of a difference one person can make. He didn’t just represent his company — he embodied it.

A Reminder of Why We Show Up

What really hit me was the sense of togetherness. Everyone — from startups to government departments — was there with the same mission: to make public services smarter, more inclusive, and more impactful. It wasn’t about selling. It was about solving. About listening. About showing up.

As the final day wrapped up, I took a moment to just stand still and soak it all in. I was tired, sure — but also deeply inspired. I felt lucky to have been part of something that wasn’t just an event, but a movement.

Until Next Time

DigiGov Expo reminded me that progress doesn’t happen in silos. It happens when we gather, when we share stories, when we challenge each other to think bigger. I walked away with new connections, fresh ideas, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Here’s to the people, the conversations, and the spark that keeps us moving forward.

Can’t wait to do it all again next year.
